While criminal leaders seek the expansion of empire, the point of no return for life on Earth has potentially already been passed. The primary objective of the facade global climate conferences is to covertly force countries to accept the ongoing and expanding climate engineering insanity. The long term goal to limit global average temperature rise to 2C (set only last year at the Paris climate conference, 2015), may possibly be officially exceeded only one year from the date of the conference, 2016. Rapidly worsening global droughts are decimating ecosystems and populations. In regard to the epic droughts, climate engineering is verifiably the single greatest causal factor (also fueling forest fires like the catastrophic inferno currently burning in Canada), yet, again, this fact is completely ignored or blatantly denied by the corporate media, academia, and their paid for "experts". To control the water supply is to control populations.
Ghost ships on a now dry Aral Sea, climate engineering is wreaking havoc on Earth's life support systems.
The deadly heat wave that is occurring in India is only one example. It may become the most deadly ever, and summer is still to come. Is India being punished by the climate engineers for its recent ousting of Monsanto? Though the runaway planetary warming is all too real (with countless forms of anthropogenic damage fueling the fire), all available evidence makes clear that the geoengineers can clearly push extreme conditions further in any direction.
It is estimated that Monsanto may be responsible for the deaths of as many as 300,000 Indian farmers.
But what about all the headlines of the expanding Arctic ice? This narrative was just another well funded lie put out by the military/industrial complex and the geoengineers. The lie has been enthusiastically embraced by many that did not bother to look for (or perhaps did not want) verifiable front line facts. Arctic sea ice extent and volume is plunging far into record low territory and may not survive the summer (yes, this summer). If this does occur it would radically accelerate the already runaway warming scenario that climate engineering is contributing to overall. Climate engineering can and is creating short term toxic cooling events at the cost of a worsened overall warming. Recent studies indicate the Arctic has not had ice free summers for some 6 to 10 million years. Vanishing ice is impacting jet stream patterns (though geoengineering and the ionosphere heaters are also a major factor affecting and disrupting jet stream patterns). About our odds of extinction, a just published science report states that:
“A typical person is more than five times as likely to die in an extinction event as in a car crash,”
The reality of the rapidly accelerating climate disintegration is, unfortunately, much worse than even this headline indicates. In fact, global high temperatures have just skyrocket past the 12th consecutive month in a row of all time record high temperatures for any month. To be clear, this means that each of the last 12 months successively broke the all time high temperature record for ANY month ever recorded since record keeping began. Coral reefs are bleaching and dying around the globe from excessive and accelerating ocean heating. Where is the human race and planet Earth headed if we do not immediately and completely change course? "Venus Syndrome" will be our near term final destination, and all the climate engineering/solar radiation management that the military/industrial complex can deploy is only further fueling the overall planetary meltdown.
In regard to Venus, if all relevant factors were equal to Earth, Venus would only be 20 to 25 degrees warmer than Earth. Instead, due to a "runaway greenhouse scenario" and the dense atmosphere that this scenario created, the surface temperatures of Venus are now nearly 900 degrees.
But wait, the new film "Climate Hustle" completely disproves the global warming "theory", doesn't it? The short answer is absolutely NOT. The "Climate Hustle" disinformation travesty is only relevant to those who are not truly interested in front line facts in the first place (and, of course, the film never mentioned the climate engineering elephant in the room). The excerpt below shines more light on the film producer, Marc Morano, who is clearly paid to cloud the climate disintegration reality.
ExxonMobil's Climate Science Denial
After decades of financing political groups to attack the science of climate change and the scientists conducting the research, ExxonMobil is embroiled in scandal.
This follows revelations from InsideClimate News and the Los Angeles Times that Exxon not only recognized climate change as fact, and its root in fossil fuel use, but spent millions on scientific studies of our global climate system. After Exxon buried the evidence and waged an advertising and public relations campaign to deny the science, the company coordinated and financed several groups to confuse the public.
One of these groups is Marc Morano's employer, the Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow, or CFACT, which pays him a $150,000 annual salary. CFACT and Exxon, along with Chevron, coal utility Southern Company and a number of other front groups forged a plan in 1998 at the American Petroleum Institute, a plan they continue to follow in 2015.
So what is the truth? How bad is our collective reality? How much time do we have if we don't completely change direction? Those who are truly interested in solid conclusions to these questions will take the necessary time to actually do some objective research of front-line facts. There is only one way forward in the battle to expose and halt climate engineering, reaching a critical mass of awareness. We must all make our voices heard in this all important effort.

Thank you Earth Angel, & hugs for your lovely empathy….we are kindred souls for the trees I think. There are so many compassionate and kind people commenting on this list/website….a family of beautiful aware people….with Dane as our "father, leader, mentor, shepherd." We are blessed to be able to be conduits for the light of knowledge in some way…to keep on sharing and broadcasting the info that we can.
The honeybees are under great peril also and they never give up trying to pollinate our crops and make honey even while bombarded with killer pesticides. I love them so much and will donate to the honeybee sanctuaries springing up everywhere. One farmer called them the most exquisite of creatures, who never give up showing us what service to the planet can be like….and that every farm should have honeybees. They are so tiny and give so much. God bless the honeybees and all of Dane's family of information gatherers who share and inspire each other.
I just do not understand, why people in general cannot or do not notice/recognize the blatant SAG/SRM that is constantly taking place in the atmosphere, above their heads! The second issue is, the people that do notice, say those are Condensation Trails (Contrails). These people need to take the initiative to do a more in-depth research & investigation, in order to distinguish the numerous differences! The Big Business Corporations, like Exxon, that cover up hazzards & manipulate the true data, at the expense of human health & irreparable damage to the planet, should be permanently closed down!

However, many young people I speak to are hungry for information and want to keep in contact with me for more information. I find that people in their twenties and thirities to be more interested than older people and also are better informed.I noticed that young people use the internet and YouTube much more than baby boomers.I do not believe law suits against governments will do any good except maybe to get some attention if corporate media will publish any of it which I doubt.Living in South Texas I know the skies are suppose to be blue in May. Almost every day it is over cast and the UV radiation is high to extremely high. Living near an air port I've seen the white and black aerosols being sprayed even at low altitude like 200 feet above ground by those dull grey unmarked Air Force planes. Hello Sharon, though we all share your angst and anger, there is no shortcut to prevailing in this challenge, We must reach a critical mass of awarenss with the population and we must do it peacefully. To do otherwise would be to give those in power exactly the excuse they are looking for to immediately implement the crackdwon they want to put in place. We cannot win this battle without an army of the aware and the awakened. Reaching a critical mass of awareness also means that those in the military will be forced to wake, and their families. Once this occures, the insanity can be stopped from the inside out. It is a mistake to underestimate the good that can be done from the Canadian legal action and the soon to be filed US legal action, again, both of these efforts are primarily for the purpose of waking the sleeping masses to this reality. Alaska’s output has fallen to 500,000 barrels a day, enough to fill only one-quarter of the capacity of the state’s main economic artery, the 800-mile Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. With 90 percent of the general fund revenue tied to oil, the collapse has been devastating. Alaska, facing a $4 billion budget deficit, is one of four energy states that have slid into recession over the past year because of cheap oil. The state’s rainy day fund is burning through $11 million a day. The Alaska boom is similar to any previous booms like the gold rush for example. Man's greed to make it big looks at any opportunity going. So, what was the reason for the oil prices to spike so high other than artificial price control to make big profits? There were predictions of oil being $400 a barrel and peak oil being surpassed. Yet, here we are, oil at around $40 a barrel and oil production at record levels while Alaska is on the verge of total collapse. But, despite the latest oil prices we're all paying higher prices at the pump. Imagine what we'll be paying for gas if oil goes back up to $140 a barrel. Hello again from Southwest, New Mexico. On 5-5-16 our rain clouds were destroyed by the SAG/SRM aircraft sprayers. We had very much cloud cover with a promise of rain but left with a black sky at sunset and winds. They must work hand in hand with HAARP, don't doubt! I'm sure most here has seen dvd, "Angels Don't Play This HAARP". We are in a Controlled and Engineered Manmade Drought no if, ands, or buts. I've seen it now for a good 13 years. Spread The Word. Stephan, thanks for sharing this video. It's an eye opener for sure. I got so pissed I had to stop it at the 2 minute mark. The whole tar sand deal is a losing proposition. It reminded me of the once lovely palm trees here in La Jolla, CA; they are thin brown sticks now, w/ lifeless and drooping brown leaves. A few dried bushes along the coast have spring flowers, bless their hearts, but it is a last gasp. Our coasts have almost no life….no crabs, no minnows in the tide pools, very few birds except seagulls and a few blackbirds who now often beg for food. Our beautiful blue-green planet is dying…and we are next. "I think that I shall never see…a poem as lovely as a tree." We are living in a tragedy. A letter to Gov Brown keeps running in my mind…"Why are you in league with the evil powers controlling our planet? You used to further environmental preservation. Are you now a robotized clone? You no longer have caring, sensitivity, kindness? You have joined the evil cabal and now turn a blind, deaf self to a dying world and populace? May it return to you tenfold…and all those who promote the death agenda. Surely cosmic justice with the murderers at some point? Ice nucleating particles (INPs) are vital for ice initiation in, and precipitation from, mixed-phase clouds. A source of INPs from oceans within sea spray aerosol (SSA) emissions has been suggested in previous studies but remained unconfirmed. Here, we show that INPs are emitted using real wave breaking in a laboratory flume to produce SSA. The number concentrations of INPs from laboratory-generated SSA, when normalized to typical total aerosol number concentrations in the marine boundary layer, agree well with measurements from diverse regions over the oceans. Data in the present study are also in accord with previously published INP measurements made over remote ocean regions. INP number concentrations active within liquid water droplets increase exponentially in number with a decrease in temperature below 0 °C, averaging an order of magnitude increase per 5 °C interval. The plausibility of a strong increase in SSA INP emissions in association with phytoplankton blooms is also shown in laboratory simulations. Nevertheless, INP number concentrations, or active site densities approximated using “dry” geometric SSA surface areas, are a few orders of magnitude lower than corresponding concentrations or site densities in the surface boundary layer over continental regions. These findings have important implications for cloud radiative forcing and precipitation within low-level and midlevel marine clouds unaffected by continental INP sources, such as may occur over the Southern Ocean.

This colloquium included scientists from a wide range of disciplines related to aerosols in the climate system to examine the questions of why has it been so difficult to constrain the role of aerosols in determining the Earth’s cloudiness, and what can be done to make better progress moving forward. I'd like to suggest the book by Gavin DeBecker called "The Gift Of Fear". It is all about our innate human instinct (and how we are taught by society to ignore it). Our intuition and instinct may be the most important tools that we have that no one can take away from us. As a lifelong 'intuitive', I have learned to listen hard and I am amazed what people are willfully denying as their attention is always on something outside themselves. I bring this up because as people are awakened to the ongoing climate nightmare, they get angry and depressed and FEARFUL. It is normal. We need to except that fear is the natural impetus for engagement and action. I am sorry that I have upset people by revealing what they don't want to know. The "shoot the messenger" syndrome is so strong that I am now putting up Dane's posters and Geoengineeringwatch.org business cards anywhere I can. I stay a few miles out from the town of Wexford in Ireland. I live directly under one of the main Europe – North Atlantic Air Routes. The situation is getting worse all of the time. The day started out with clear blue skies until these Transatlantic Passenger Jets started to foul up the shy again with their Poison Chemtrails. At present the sky is a milky white / pale grey as a direct result from this chemical filth.
I have also noticed that the fir trees alongside my Driveway are looking very sick this year. Again, the result of the filth that is coming down with the rain. Heads are going to roll one of these days when those responsible are rounded up.

Word on the grapevine down in Marin from Lake County is that folks are trying to get back to normal up there after the Valley Fire that took large swaths of Cobb, Anderson Springs, burnt Harbin Springs to the ground. Some I know personally escaped with only their lives. Some places were unscathed. The guy who told me all this about two weeks ago lives in Lucerne, on the north end of Clear Lake. People camping on their property with not much of a way to rebuild– where is Habitat for Humanity? Life goes on. People cling to what little they have left. This is what happens afterward. No one much is asking. Disgusting.
I come from a small country down in Central America called Belize. Normal weather for us is like 90 degrees but never humid. But now with all the spraying every day 80 degrees feels like a 100 degrees and it's so humid. All our plants and trees are dying. Bad before we would go fishing and always come home with fish, now there's no more fish. There gone. Even the land crabs are gone. It's just hard to believe that a place like Belize that was so tropical and green and beautiful looks like a desert all the trees are dried and dying. All because of geoengineering.
I am truly sad to hear that about your beautiful country. We visited it about five years ago and it was a lush tropical paradise. We have even considered buying cheap land down there in the Cayo district. There is an eco community in the rainforest where we thought about building a small off grid property and living off the land as much as possible. We have tried to find out whether it is being sprayed and nobody has been able to tell us as they don't seem to notice it. Perhaps that area of Belize is being left alone. I read your articles regularly and have become a true believer. The insanity is truly global as I witness strange weather patterns previously never experienced to the degree they are in Australia. Longer spells of drought in temperate zones together with record heat. Last week I took a vacation in the northwest of Western Australia. .an area known as the Kimberley. It is remote and sparsely populated, an area the size of Texas. Arriving in Broome the temperature was 40 degrees celcius..it remained in the mid 30's and above all week which felt abnormally hot. This is normally the end of the wet season when one would expect rivers, streams and waterfalls to be flowing fully. The reality is the opposite… this region didnt have a wet season at all this year. Locals I spoke to said there were around 8 days where only light showers fell. Sunset over the Indian Ocean was characterised by a dirty brown haze on the horizon through which the sun shone feebly. Flying from Melbourne direct to Broome is 4 hours each way… I observed a similar haze most of the flight… and its not the first time I've noticed that. Visibility has reduced markedly in recent years since the atmosphere has become clogged with all these particulates. In some instances Ive even noticed the sun reflecting off clouds below!!. I'm a firm believer in the evil that is being thrust upon the planet … yet so many people just go about their daily lives as if nothing is going to change. Two doors down from me, a man, his wife and 3 children moved in, renting. I learned he is military, National Guard, I believe. Or some type of reserve, about 40 years of age. A few months ago, during one of the rare times I see him, I mentioned geoengineering to him, and he was literally all but silent in his response. Very odd. Usually people say something, they don't just look at you with a pasted (trained) smile. Today I saw him, and when he asked how I was, I said not good as long as our military continue to spray us with chemical and biological cocktails. He said, "It's not the military", and walked to his front door, ignoring my two follow up questions asking, "Well, then, who is it"? Several minutes later I saw him back in the front yard, and told him that at the least, KC-135 tankers are spraying us, and who, if not the military, are flying the tankers? He replied, "I don't believe it". I said, "Believe what"? He said, "I don't believe it's happening". I started to tell him about the Canadian lawsuit, filed by the attorney's Dane's working with, and he put up his hands (facing outwards towards me, in the "stop" gesture), and said, "Let's just remain friendly neighbors". I said, "So you're not willing to discuss this subject", and his reply was to get in his car and drive away without further comment.
About a month ago, I saw his wife, and another female neighbor, talking on the sidewalk. I approached them and pointing to the extremely heavy spraying in the skies. The National Guard's wife did something I've never experienced when telling others about geoengineering. She took a step or two back, distancing herself from me and the other gal, and about literally looked at her feet, as though she had found something of great interest.

Having lived through the flood in Alberta three years ago. I know first hand the effects of climate change. The flood that brought southern Alberta to its knees is still affecting many people who just haven't managed to get their lives back together. The rain that caused the flood lasted for three days straight and along with ice melting In the mountains the rivers just couldn't take anymore and burst their banks in practically every town in their path. Whether that storm was geoengineered can not be proven. However, I remember seeing very strange looking clouds the day Calgary flooded.
Tonight I made myself watch the news about the devastating and truly terrifying fires raging through Fort McMurray. For those who haven't heard of this city it is the hub for those who work in the oil patch. Otherwise know to rest of the world as the tar sands. Over eighty thousand people being evacuated on only one road. This road goes north to the oil patch camps or south which leads eventually to Edmonton which would be the next biggest city. For those who haven't seen any of the coverage take a look on u tube. It's truly incredible to see what these poor families had to drive through. Literally a wall of flames on both sides. The weather up there has been unusually hot for this time of year at just over 30c. Generally there is still some snow. There has been no rain and the humidity is at 15 percent. Throw in all the oil that is in the atmosphere some aerosol spraying and the boreal forest starts to burn down and destroy people's lives. Many people who work there are from out east in the Maritime provinces. Like many before them they moved for jobs and money. The fishing industry for them had long since started drying up.
I just find it very strange that Alberta the oil capital of Canada has been hit twice in such s short period of time. I don't support what they are doing by destroying the planet like they are in the oil patch. It makes me cry when I see photos of what is being done up there. However, I live here and this climate change has had an effect on me already. Our insurance is much higher now for example and I live in an area which no longer has flood insurance. My heart felt thoughts go out to all of those in Fort McMurray who have lost their homes or businesses. Most of them are young families who really are just trying to provide for their families.

I see Mcleans magazine posted something yesterday questioning whether climate change could be causing the Alberta fires. I hope they print it on the front page of their next edition. As yet people here are nowhere near awake. Most are just enjoying the nice weather and thinking it's great that we haven't had much rain and very little snow. I know what you mean Phil. My Colorado history book that I had to read back in 1973 at Barton elementary explicitly bragged about our average of 300 sunny pretty much cloud free days a year. Obviously that is no longer the case but I can't get anyone my age or older who are natives of Colorado to remember how the weather was in the sixties before this crap really got amped up. I will point out the incredible loss of insect life locally and I usually get no response or "I saw a bee in my garden so you are wrong". If it was only us stupid humans going extinct I would actually be thankful as we are a dead end species that is incapable of maturing. Alas, we are taking down a whole planet with our demise. This is why I chose from a young age to never reproduce as I did not want to be responsible for having children who would have no future for their children. You do not have to be a genius to figure out that a system based on infinite growth cannot go on forever in a finite world.

Jon, it is not normal for evergreens to brown like this, even in the winter, unless they are under a very severe drought. Keep in mind however that Geoengineering can create severe droughts or flooding. Trees are dying everywhere from fungus (due to deminished sunlight from Solar Radiation Management) and from the heavy metal oxides going into the root system and poisoning the tree. it sickens me what is going on! I feel so helpless, angry, sad and worst of all hopeless when it comes to the future. This is a sneak attack on all of us- all of our beloved animals and plants…and everything we need to live.
I can tell you from my own experience that my allergies are 100% worse and to a 10 min. direct sun exposure my skin reacts by breaking out in hives.
I will continue to make this known- although so many are totally clueless and rather close their eyes to what is in fact happening.
I've considered leaving the country- but had to realize that i would have to leave Earth……..if i was to get away form what is happening all over the world.

Hi Mirjana: I feel exactly the same as you do. My only hope is to have a little patch of relatively toxin-free air to breathe at night.. I'm trying to get into a kind of house in another neighborhood and sell my leaky old house to finance the move. Older houses have leak issues we just don't understand. The size of the property is killing me literally and I can't spend all the time and money and water on the landscaping; in another ten years I won't be able to do this at all. Time to move somewhere that works for me, not against me. Doesn't seem to be any place on Earth that is unscathed from the relentless spraying. It is actually worth my life to look up. I seek shadows! And I seem to be resigned myself to go down with the ship, so to speak, with my birds and "land" and plants. I am growing foods, and though they receive this spraying, all foods do, or if not, if greenhouse grown, all receive the water. At least here, my ground is organically certified for almost 30 years now. I have a modicum of control. And the land I've worked so very long, sweat into, bled into, gives back with love and healing Still, despite all. I do not want to hold myself more precious than the land itself. The Earth, even and especially the waters. I will continue to try to clean them and heal them even as they heal me. And I will fight these assaults on all fronts I can. We really got rain, in May yet! Hard to feel comfortable with it, but plants and birds seem happier than last year and busy breeding. But I well know the heat to come, and started preparing years ago with plants that heal and cleanse and will thrive, at least for awhile. With the unfolding global weather patterns, this year of 2016 in particular, the global meltdown is undeniable. It's obvious, here in TX, that the only reason it has been even hotter than it has been has been due to the rampant geoengineering. While we see aerosolized trails throughout the day, I have noticed particularly thick amorphous layers in the Eastern sky during sunrise and in the Western during sunset? WHY is this? Hello Marc, yes, the climate engineers can and do create “heat domes” of high pressure, but this fact does not negate the rapid overall buildup of heat from countless anthropogenic sources as well. We are in uncharted territory.

The radio frequency striations and weird shapes ought to cause people to shake off the blind lethargy. This community was lengendary for pristine cloudless blue skies. I have not seen a sky devoid of clouds for the past 10 days. Granted, there is sunshine, lots of it, but the spraying is virtually non-stop. Today is the worse. A total sprayed and morphed radio frequency zapped mess. This is my first trip here. And my last. Hell, I can have these grunge skies in Mendocino. Lake County was given the cleanest bill of health in the state of California regarding air quality. Hi, Dane I saw presentation one of Al Gore's 1st 50 protegee's from Oregon and he did say they can't say for sure climate change causes all problems as weather is unpredictable and of course he did not mention geoengineering chemtrails haarp heaters etc. He has some accurate info on wind currents and heating of ocean but blamed cumulative individual human activity (coal, airlines, fires, etc.). He mentioned problems in Syria and India (but didn't put it together). He was puzzled by Oyster farm in Wilapa Bay Washington that moved to Hawaii due to warming ocean and said they tried cooler conditions artificially in a farm while still in Washington, but could not get oysters to thrive and didn't know why it failed as water was set several degrees under 70.

You are absolutely right Cori. The biggest problem I see is that some people, in positions of authority, are still unaware of the aerosol program. Talked with my good senator Sheryl Nuxoll yesterday, after cussing at the sky all morning, and it turns out she's heard people "talk" about persistent contrails but is so overwhelmed by so many other issues that she hasn't really studied this problem at all. Rarely acknowledged in the debate on global climate change, the world’s weather can now be modified as part of a new generation of sophisticated electromagnetic weapons. Both the US and Russia have developed capabilities to manipulate the climate for military use. Environmental modification techniques have been applied by the US military for more than half a century. US mathematician John von Neumann, in liaison with the US Department of Defense, started his research on weather modification in the late 1940s at the height of the Cold War and foresaw ‘forms of climatic warfare as yet unimagined’.

The project, according to a July report in Defense News, was undertaken by BAES’s Electronic Warfare division. Greenpeace has done that part of the world whose representatives are so corrupt or so stupid as to sign on to the Trans-Pacific and Trans-Atlantic “partnerships” a great service. Greenpeace secured and leaked the secret TTIP documents that Washington and global corporations are pushing on Europe. The official documents prove that my description of these “partnerships” when they first appeared in the news is totally correct.
These so-called “free trade agreements” are not trade agreements. The purpose of the “partnerships,” which were drafted by global corporations, is to make corporations immune to the laws of sovereign countries in which they do business. Any country’s sovereign law whether social, environmental, food safety, labor protections—any law or regulation—that impacts a corporation’s profits is labeled a “restraint on trade.” The “partnerships” permit corporations to file a suit that overturns the law or regulation and also awards the corporation damages paid by the taxpayers of the country that tried to protect its environment or the safety of its food and workers.
The law suit is not heard in the courts of the country or in any court. It is heard in a corporate tribunal in which corporations serve as judge, jury, and prosecutor. In other words, the “partnerships” give global corporations the power to overturn democratic outcomes. Allegedly, Europe consists of democracies. Democracies pass laws protecting the environment and the safety of food and labor, but these laws democratically enacted reduce profits. Anything less than a sweatshop, with starvation wages, no environmental protection, no safety legislation for food or worker, can be overturned at will by global corporations under the terms of the “partnerships.”
Only a traitor, a well paid one, could sign such a pact.

Dane as you mentioned regarding complete denial, Dahr Jamail in his most recent Climate Change article he mentioned how extreme the weather has become with some areas hotter or colder than normal.
And yet he never mentioned of climate engineering.
It’s been said that the Right looks for allies, while the Left looks for traitors. Perhaps an over-simplification, but not without a kernel of truth. Very few manage to note all pertinent details in any description of a problem, but intentions still count. Even friends may not understand all things in the same way at all times. Too true Susan, but just try wresting that smart phone out of their hands! Myself, I'm on this computer too much and I am beginning to feel that it is causing my sleepiness somehow. Does weird things to my eyes. But I am addicted. And I always want to come home to this site. But at the expense of a life? The over use of computers and addiction to surfing the Net has been shown to actually alter the human brain physically. From ‘The Shallows, What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains’ by Nicholas Carr: “The Net’s cacophony of stimuli short circuits both conscious and unconscious thought, preventing our mind from thinking deeply or creatively. …Heavy use has neurological consequences. …as the time we spend hopping across links, crowds out the time we devote to quiet reflection and contemplation, the [brain] circuits that support those old intellectual functions and pursuits weaken and begin to break apart. The brain recycles the disused neurons and synapses…”
One wonders how this kind of entrainment by the machine will damage our capacity to contemplate and meditate. Surely the rapid-fire experience of zooming around the Internet, reading dozens of articles in the most superficial way, perhaps only the first paragraph if that, is the extreme antithesis of the state of consciousness one hopes to achieve in meditation. This ‘redirection of our mental resources’ and ‘making judgments that are imperceptible to us’ as Nicholas Carr says, have been shown to ‘impede comprehension and retention’. Carr quotes the German philosopher, Martin Heidegger, who back in the 1950s said: "…the looming tide of [the] technological could so captivate, bewitch, dazzle and beguile man that calculative [quantitative] thinking may someday come to be accepted and practiced as the only way of thinking." The frenzy of quantity over quality, jumping from one focus to the next, using only a small part of the brain may destroy our capacity for quiet contemplation and meditation. The state of a calm and attentive mind cultivated in silence is not only the source of all genuine creativity and innovation… How much of what we surf on the Net do we actually learn and absorb – and how much is mere titillation, escape and addiction. Where is our Free Will in formats generated by one-size-fits-all software. Are these new masters of the universe, who we are in fact allowing to transform the very way our brains operate — are they true masters of their own consciousness. Generic formats that gather our personal information exist and are used not for our benefit, but to manipulate us without our knowledge. Maybe this is why the ones in denial can't even see the chemtrails?
Susan thank you so much for this! I hope that you also got my thanks and to others also for my health-seems to have worked! I do a great deal of research on this computer as it is the first I've had that functions well. So, I've been like a kid in a candy store, studying so very much. So much I want to know. And I do pour through this site, and then research what I've found. I also read a lot, of books, but now find reading more difficult somehow, concentration more difficult, and not on computer, but rather in books. I find I have to re-read pages often. I swear I can actually feel my brain changing. In both good ways and bad. What you've written here puts that and my sleepiness in context and I am grateful. I have this computer in my big kitchen, I really need an office for what all I do, but space here is limited. I had to get WiFi and get my only phone, a very simple land line, "bundled" because I over see care of my brother-in-law who is in a "home" in South Dakota with a major brain injury. I need to call nearly everyday and could not afford that otherwise. I refuse to have a cell phone and could not afford one anyway. But I do turn the WiFi off when I go to sleep, even if it means no phone. But when awake, I want the computer. I am drawn to this site, but that may change. I broke my left hand some months ago and yet type, painfully, then to see what I wrote to you and what I consider very important-gone. I take that hard. Was hard to do and neglected other stuff to do it.
Somehow I am very busy all the time and on many fronts. There will continue to be much computer work for me to do. And as it is difficult sometimes, often?, to get the "right" answer on computer, I find myself having to verify things constantly. My downfall lies in how one thing leads to another. But, oddly?, this has not affected my ability to meditate, perhaps because I have been meditating since I was three years old. It is very easy for me to be still and in the moment. So, I figure I need to divide my time in some way. Kind of like a diet or with food-portions! Thanks to Dane's urging to not believe him, do your own research, I have done and did not realize I have a knack for this. Would never have thought so. And so thanks to Dane, I've learned so very much about our world I would not have learned otherwise and that sorta springboarded me in other efforts and curiosities. Apparently, I am a bottomless pit of curiosity! thought I could not get enough, then recently felt overloaded. Too many things in my head. And at the expense of needful things. As always, balance is the key, or so I hope. It does help to read what you've said to me here, fortifies my impressions of the computer and I will put some boundaries on it. But it is hard to resist many on this site, such as yourself and what you post. But, if I can't interact, ask questions, give thanks, give opinion, then clearly I am paddling up the wrong creek.
